Cover for Kubota mini excavators, compact tractors and utility vehicles.
Kubota's Australian fleet is small, valuable and easy to move, and that changes the claim pattern. Mini excavators and compact tractors are stolen off trailers and out of driveways far more often than large plant, and they spend far more of their life being towed. On this brand, theft and transit damage usually outrank mechanical loss.
Kubota builds mini and midi excavators, compact and utility tractors, RTV utility vehicles, skid steers and compact track loaders, plus a wide mower range. In Australia the machines are common in landscaping, hire fleets, small civil work, councils and hobby farms. Attachments such as buckets, augers, slashers, post drivers and rotary hoes usually make up the second half of the asset value.

Theft of compact machines from trailers, driveways and unsecured sites, generally subject to security conditions.
Damage while being floated on a trailer, which is a leading compact machine claim.
A 1.7 tonne excavator chained to a tandem trailer in a suburban driveway is gone by morning, along with the trailer. Claims like this commonly turn on whether the locks, chains and storage arrangements described when the cover was arranged were in place on the night.
A poorly restrained mini excavator shifts on a roundabout and comes off the trailer into traffic, damaging the machine and other vehicles. Transit incidents are one of the leading compact machine losses, and they usually bring a liability component with them as well as the machine repair.
A utility vehicle tips over on a wet paddock slope, bending the ROPS frame and injuring the rider. Injury to the rider is generally dealt with under personal injury or workers compensation arrangements rather than the plant policy, which typically responds only to the vehicle damage.
It depends entirely on the theft conditions in the wording. Many policies apply stricter conditions to machines left on trailers or in open driveways than to machines locked in a shed, and some require specific locks or immobilisers. It is worth reading the security conditions before you rely on the cover for the way you actually store the machine.
There is no legal requirement in that situation, but the exposures do not disappear. Fire, theft, storm and accidental damage still apply, and a machine that never leaves the farm can still be stolen from a shed. Whether it is worth insuring generally comes down to what replacing it unexpectedly would do to your cash flow.
Usually not automatically. Implements are commonly scheduled as separate items with their own values, and on compact machines they often add up to as much as the machine itself. Keeping the implement schedule current is generally the easiest way to avoid being underinsured after a shed fire or a theft.
It depends on your setup rather than on a standard rate. The main drivers are the combined machine and attachment values, where machines are stored overnight, trailer security and tie-down practice, whether the gear is hired out, whether the work is landscaping, farming or small civil, and your claims history.
